Tom Byrne has been elected 2008 president of the Realtors Commercial Alliance of Greater Miami and the Beaches. Jose Juncadella was elected president-elect.
Alyce Robertson has been appointed interim executive director of the Miami Downtown Development Authority.
Cathy Lewis has been installed as the 2008 secretary of the Women's Council of Realtors, Greater Palm Beach Chapter.
Steven Hurwitz has been promoted to shareholder and senior vice president of Continental Real Estate Companies.
Michael Sprotzer has joined Holliday Fenoglio Fowler LP in Miami as an associate director in the investment sales group and a member of the firm's national multi-family group.
John Churchward has joined Forman Capital, a Delray Beach-based direct bridge and subordinate debt lender for commercial real estate, as managing director of business development. Kyle Early has been promoted to vice president of underwriting and portfolio management at the firm.
Miami-based Lennar Corp. has promoted Diane Bessette to vice president and treasurer and David Collins to controller.
Thomas Caputo has joined Equity One, a North Miami Beach-based owner, developer and operator of shopping centers, as president. Caputo was previously an executive vice president with Kimco Realty Corp., where he headed the firm's portfolio management and acquisition groups. In other news at Equity One, Arthur Gallagher was promoted to executive vice president and general counsel.

Coral Gables-based Continental Real Estate Co. has added approximately 450,000 square feet to its Palm Beach County management portfolio. The firm has added Mellon Bank and Horizon Building, with 173,644 square feet of office space in West Palm Beach; Crystal Corporate Center, with 126,709 square feet of office space in Boca Raton; 219 Clematis Street, a 50,133-square-foot retail/office property in West Palm Beach; and Wharfside at Boca Pointe, a waterfront property with 107,149 square feet of ground floor retail and second and third floor office space.
777 Brickell, a 286,822-square-foot Class B office building in Miami, has received the TOBY Office Building of the Year award in the 250,000 to 499,999-square-foot category. The award is given by the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA).
Font Designs, a landscape architecture firm, has relocated its office from Doral to 7551 Wiles Road, Suite 105B, in Coral Springs.
North Miami Beach-based DZD Holdings Inc. has obtained a $19.8 million construction loan for Palmetto Gardens Plaza, a 108,000-square-foot shopping center at 3791 NW 167th Street in Miami Gardens. The funding was provided by National City Bank.
CB Richard Ellis has been named the exclusive leasing agent for Crystal Tree Centre, a 117,678-square-foot mixed-use project at 1201 U.S. Highway 1 in North Palm Beach. Orin Rosenfeld will oversee the leasing and marketing of the retail space, while Warren Sears will handle the office space. Crystal Tree Centre consists of 42,374 square feet of office space and 75,304 square feet of retail and restaurant space.

On Thursday, April 24, the South Florida chapter of NAIOP will conduct its annual Miami-Dade County Bus Tour, an all-day tour of the various commercial markets and submarkets in the county.
