Publisher's note
Last month, we held a forum at the Four Seasons on Brickell. The turnout was tremendous. We were expecting 150 people and we received more than 250 people at the event. It's a sign of the times that people need all the real estate information they can get.
One person there told me that the forum, which was titled "Will commercial real estate rescue Downtown/Brickell?" was the largest real estate event they've attended in two years.
Most people were impressed by the type of information we covered there. We had two developers, a city official, a financier and an architect to cover the breadth of the market. No forum is complete without questions from the attendees, and to be quite frank, the most interesting questions were those presented by the audience. For more on the forum, please visit our Web site at sf.therealdeal.com for highlights.
As you can see, our South Florida edition is being distributed to you this month along with our New York edition. One of the reasons for this is that there seems to be more interest in spending media dollars in the New York edition currently, so we've decided to continue to bring you both for now.
While advertisers might be holding onto their pocketbooks more tightly these days, The Real Deal has only upped its interest in the South Florida market by beefing up the editorial content on our Web site, where we aggregate South Florida real estate news daily and supplement that with original coverage. Again, you can find it all at sf.therealdeal.com.
The Real Deal came to South Florida to bring the local industry a news publication worthy of poring through and walking away from with information that will actually help you become a better and more knowledgeable real estate professional. A publication consisting of more than party pictures and press releases.
We are committed to continuing to bring you the best news available in the South Florida real estate market. We know the readers here love us, and we hope to gain the overall support of the industry itself in the same way.
Enjoy the issue,
Amir Korangy
